a) A real-world problem for the division is "Pedro has
2(3)/(4) liters of fuel and he wants to divide it equally into bottles. Each bottle can hold
(1)/(8) liters. How many bottles can Pedro fill?

b) We can create a model of bottles that each can contain
(1)/(8) liters of fuel. Then we fill the bottles using the
2(3)/(4) liters that Pedro has to see how many bottles he can fill.

c) The quotient is 22 bottles.

The total quantity of fuel that Petro has =
2(3)/(4) liters = 2.75 liters

The capacity of each bottle =
(1)/(8) liters

The total number of bottles that can be filled = 22 (
2(3)/(4) ÷
(1)/(8))

= 2.75 x 8 = 22 bottles

Thus, based on the division model, the quotient is 22 bottles.

Complete Question:

Consider
2(3)/(4) divided by
(1)/(8) (a) Write a real-world problem for the division. (b) Create and explain a model for the division (c) Find the quotient. Show your work or explain your reasoning.
