Then, subtract 2.5 - 3.5 to get -1, and now we have -1 = 8 - (4x+6).

Multiply 8 by the numbers inside the parenthesis. Now we have,

-1 = 8 - 32x + 48. Subtract 48 from both sides to isolate the x by itself.

We have, -49 = 8 - 32x. Subtract 8 from both sides.

Now we have, -57 = -32x. To get x by itself, divide both sides by -32.

Our answer is x = 0.75.
