Answer:

y = 6x + 37

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

calculate the slope m, using the slope formula

m =
(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

let (₁, y₁ ) = (- 7, - 5 ) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (- 5, 7 )

substitute these values into the formula for m

m =
(7-(-5))/(-5-(-7)) =
(7+5)/(-5+7) =
(12)/(2) = 6 , then

y = 6x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c, substitute either of the 2 points into the partial equation

using (- 5, 7 ) for x and y in the partial equation

7 = 6(- 5) + c = - 30 + c ( add 30 to both sides )

37 = c

y = 6x + 37 ← equation of line
