Answer:

6

Explanation:

2 1/3 - 1/2x = -2/3

Add both sides by the opposite of the fraction that doesn't have a variable attached (In this case it's gonna be negative, as 2 1/3 is a positive number)

2 1/3 + (- 2 1/3) = 0

you can also do

2 1/3 - 2 1/3 = 0

Now we remain with -1/2x = -2/3, do the same to -2/3

-2/3 + (-2 1/3) = -3

or

-2/3 - 2 1/3 = -3

Now we have -1/2x = -3, multiply both by the reciprocal of the remaining fraction, (the reciprocal of -1/2 is 2/1)

2/1 x -1/2 = -1 and -3 x 2/1 = -6

Multiply the answers

-1 x -6 = 6

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thus, X = 6, hope this helps! I apologize if it's bewildering, I'm better with writing it on paper than typing it out.

Answer:

x = 6

Explanation:

2
(1)/(3) -
(1)/(2) x = -
(2)/(3) ( subtract 2
(1)/(3) from both sides )

-
(1)/(2) x = -
(2)/(3) - 2
(1)/(3) = - 3 ( multiply both sides by - 2 to clear the fraction )

x = - 3 × - 2 = 6

x = 6
