The area of the rectangle is 40 square units.

How to find the area?

Remember that the area of a rectangle of length L and width W is given by:

A = L*W

Here we can define:

L = UT

W = UV

Remember that the distance between two points (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂) is given by:

D = √( (x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)²)

We can see that:

V = (-3, 0),U = (-5, 4)

Then:

W = √( (-3 + 5)² + (0 - 4)²)

W = √20

And the for the lenght:

U = (-5, 4) and T = (3, 8), then:

L = √( (-5 - 3)² + (8 - 4)²)

L = √80

Then the area is:

Area = √80*√20 = 40 square units.
