Determine if the triangles are similar.

If they are similar, complete the similarity statement, theorem and scale factor of the small triangle to the big triangle.
If not, place an x in the similarity statement, theorem, and scale factor.

The triangles are not similar

In similar triangles, the corresponding angles are equal and the ratio of the corresponding sides are equal.

For two triangles to be similar , the ratio of the corresponding sides must be equal.

Let's check of the ratios are equal

5/10 = 1/2

4/12 = 1/3

6/8 = 3/4

As we can see, the ratios are not equal and thus the triangles are not similar.

Since the triangles are not similar, there can't be a a scale factor.
