The foodweb
A complex network that illustrates the relationships of feeding between organisms in an ecosystem is called a food web. Similar to plants, producers produce their own sustenance, which is then consumed by primary consumers, who in turn are consumed by secondary consumers, and so on.
Dead organisms are broken down by decomposers. Energy flow, an understanding of population impacts, and the direction of conservation efforts are all dependent on this interconnected web.
