Determine the area of your composite figure. Post a picture of your composite figure that includes the measurements and your calculated area. Find another student’s post and pick a shape to add to his or her composite figure. Calculate the area of the new composite figure. You will need to do these steps for two different classmates’ posts. Respond to replies about your post.

The total area of the composite figure is 235 square cm

Calculating the area of the figure

From the question, we have the following parameters that can be used in our computation:

The composite figure (see attachment)

The total area of the composite figure is the sum of the individual shapes

Where, we have the following shapes and dimensions:

Rectangle: 9 cm by 20 cm

Rectangle: 11 cm by (14 - 9) cm

Using the area formulas (Length * Width for Rectangles), we have the following:

Rectangle 1: 9 * 20 = 180 square cm

Rectangle 2: 11 * (14 - 9) = 55 square cm

Add up the individual areas

Area = 180 + 55

Evaluate the expression

Surface area = 235

Hence. the total area of the figure is 235 square cm

Determine the area of your composite figure. Post a picture of your composite figure-example-1
