Answer is -17

Step by step

I follow PEMDAS rules of math

1 + 1 x 2 - (2+3) / 2 x 8

Distribute to eliminate parentheses first

1 + 1x2 -2-3 /2 x8

combine from distribution

1 + 1 x 2 -5/2 x 8

Multiply left to right

1 + 2 -20

Combine

-17

Answer: I believe... -17.

Follow the order of operation. PEMDAS....

1+1 x 2 - (2+3) / 2 x 8.

First add up the 2 and the 3 because they're in parenthesis.

1+1 x 2 - (5) / 2 x 8

The multiply the numbers...

1+2 - 5/2 x 8

Multiply the 5/2 and 8 together.

1+2 -20

Add up the 1 and the 2

3-20

Subtract,

-17

So the answer is -17
