Answer: The total price is $478.06

Explanation:

For this we use regular price of the suit as x

x is 100% of the price therefore 62% of x=296.4

Now we cross multiply

62 × x = 100 × 296.40

62x = 29,640

Now that we got rid of those complicated percentages we simply divide both sides by 62 to isolate x

29,640/62 = 478.064516129

Since we are working with dollars and cents that do not get smaller than .01 we can shave off all the extra decimals near the end

478.06

The regular price is $478.06

Now we just check our work to prevent any awkward and simple mistakes

478.06 x .62 = 296.3972 or 478.06 x .62 = 296.39

Keep in mind the one cent difference is because we shaved off the extra decimals at the end

Hope this helps!
