Answer:

20.5

Explanation:

Area of composite figure:

Rectangle:

length = 5 units ; width = 3 units

Area of rectangle = 5 * 3 = 15 square units

Trapezium:

a = 5 units

b = 3 units ; h= 1 unit

a and b are the parallel sides and h is the height.

\sf \text{Area of trapezium = $((a +b)*h)/(2)$}

\sf =((5+3)*1)/(2)\\\\=(8)/(2)\\\\= 4 \ square \ units

Triangle:

base = 3 units ; h = 1 unit

\sf \text{Area of triangle =$(1)/(2)*base * height$}

\sf = (1)/(2)*3*1\\\\\\= 1.5 \ square \ units

Area of the figure = Area of rectangle + area of trapezium + area of triangle

= 15 + 4 + 1.5

= 20.5 square units
