Answer: Tennis player's total distance travelled from A to C=8.4m

Tennis player's total displacement travelled from A to C=1.6m

Step-by-step explanation:

As per shown in the fig:

Given:

AB=4.2m

BC=2.6m

Distance is total path travelled by an object

So distance d=AB+AC+BC.....1

but, AC=AB-BC

=4.2-2.6

AC= 1.6m .......2

Total distance=4.2+2.6+1.6

Total distance=8.4 m

As per definition, displacement is minimum distance travelled by the object .It is nothing but the AC in this question.

displacement=AC=1.6m......(from 2)
