A barrel, initially filled with 32 gallons of water, is leaking at a constant rate. The table below shows the number of gallons of water in the barrel at various times. What is the total number of gallons of water that are in the barrel exactly 10 hours after it was filled? show complete working format please

After ten hours we are going to have 6.2 galloons.

Proportions are often used in various mathematical applications, such as solving problems involving ratios, scaling, and comparing quantities. They are fundamental in geometry, algebra, and real-world situations where relationships between quantities are expressed in a proportional manner.

If the time is inversely proportional to the volume left;

t α 1/v

Let the time be t and the volume be v

t = k/v

k = tv

When t = 2 and v = 31

k = 2 * 31

k = 62

Now when t = 10

v = k/t

v = 62/10

v = 6.2 galloons
