SOLUTION

Question 4

Step1: Write out the given information

\begin{gathered} \text{Quantity prescribe: 6mg} \\ \text{label on the prescription =2mg per 4ml} \end{gathered}

Step2: Convert the quantity prescribe to ml

\begin{gathered} 2mg\text{ contains 4ml} \\ 6mg\text{ will contains }(6*4)/(2)=(24)/(2)=12ml \end{gathered}

Step3: Convert 12ml to the number of teaspoons using the conversion formula

1ml=0.20\text{ teaspoon}

Hence

\begin{gathered} \text{if 1ml=0.2teaspoon} \\ \text{then } \\ 12ml\text{ = 12}*0.2=12*(2)/(10)=(24)/(10)=2.4\text{ teaspoon } \end{gathered}

Therefore the number of teaspoons of cough medicine the patient needs to take is 2.4
