The neon green structure in the cell which is G2 is the INTERPHASE. It is the period of preparation for mitosis. It is the longest part of the cell cycle. During this time, the cell grow and make a replica of its DNA before proceeding to mitosis. It is the phase of the cell cycle where a regular cell spends most of its life. It is also the routine or metabolic phase of the cell where it gets nutrients and metabolizes them, cultivate, duplicates its DNA in its preparation for mitosis, and conducts the other normal cell functions.
