Solution

Given the value of cosθ =8/9

Quadrant IV = means cos is positive


\begin{gathered} Hyp^2=Opp^2+Adj^2 \\ 9^2=x^2+8^2 \\ 81=x^2+64 \\ x^2=81-64 \\ x^2=17 \\ x=√(17) \end{gathered}

So the Quadrant IV , Tanθ = -ve


tan\theta=(opp)/(adj)=-(√(17))/(8)

Hence the correct answer is Option B
