The y-intercept is the point where the graph intersects the y-axis. To find the y-intercept we just have to evaluate x = 0 on our function.

The y-intercept is

y(o)=7500(0.97)^0=7500(1)=7500

The y-intercept is (0, 7500). Since x represents the amount of years the account was inactive, x = 0 represents initial moment where the account starts to be inactive, therefore, 7500 represents the amount of money in the account initially.

The answer is option D.
