Given:

length of rectangle = 17

Width of rectangle = 22

The base of the triangle = 19

Find -: Area of the figure.

Sol:

The area of a rectangle is:

\text{ Area = Length }*\text{ Width}

So the area of a rectangle is:

\begin{gathered} \text{ Area =}*17*22 \\ \\ =374 \end{gathered}

Height of the triangle is:

\begin{gathered} \text{ H = }22-10 \\ \\ =12 \end{gathered}

Area of triangle is:

\begin{gathered} A=(1)/(2)*\text{ Base}*\text{ Height} \\ \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} A=(1)/(2)*19*12 \\ \\ A=6*19 \\ \\ A=114 \end{gathered}

Area of figure is:

\begin{gathered} A=374+114 \\ \\ A=488 \end{gathered}
