Solution:

We want to find the slope if the line passing through (3, -1) and (-2, -5)

\begin{gathered} Slope=\text{ }\frac{change\text{ in y}}{change\text{ in x}} \\ Change\text{ in y = -5-\lparen-1\rparen = -5+1=-4} \\ Change\text{ in x = -2-3=-5} \\ Slope=(-4)/(-5) \\ Slope=(4)/(5) \\ The\text{ answer is }(4)/(5) \end{gathered}
