The given equation is


-12x+8y=-48

The equation has 2 variables (x and y)

To solve it, we have to assume a value of x and get its corresponding value of y

Let x = 1, then substitute it in the equation and solve it to find y


\begin{gathered} x=1 \\ -12(1)+8y=-48 \\ -12+8y=-48 \end{gathered}

Add 12 to both sides


\begin{gathered} -12+12+8y=-48+12 \\ 0+8y=-36 \\ 8y=-36 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 8


\begin{gathered} (8y)/(8)=(-36)/(8) \\ y=-4.5 \end{gathered}

At x = 1, y = -4.5

Then one solution of the equation is (1, -4.5)
