The solution to the systems of equations graphically and by substitution is (6.5, 29.5)

Solving the systems of equations graphically and by substitution

From the question, we have the following parameters that can be used in our computation:

√(x + y) =6

5x - y = 3

Next, we plot the graph of the system of the equations

See attachment for the graph

From the graph, we have solution to the system to be the point of intersection of the lines

This point is located at (6.5, 29.5)

Solving by substitution, we have

√(x + y) =6

5x - y = 3

This gives

x + y = 36

5x - y = 3

So, we have

y = 36 - x

By substitution, we have

5x - 36 + x = 3

This gives

6x = 39

x = 6.5

Solving for y, we have

y = 36 - 6.5

y = 29.5

Hence, both solutions are accurate

A. √x+y=6 b. 5x - y = 3 Solve the system by graphing and by substitution. Compare-example-1
