The length between the point and the line is 2√5

To find the length between the point and a line we use the formula

Ax + By + C / √A² + B²

From the equation of line

2y = 4x - 4

Puting the equation in the form Ax + By + C = 0

2y - 4x + 4 = 0

therefore;

A = -4

B = 2

C = 4

From the point (-2,4)

x = -2 and y = 4

Therefore distance = -4 × -2) + (2 × 4) + 4/√ -2²+4²

= 8 + 8 + 4/√20

= 20/√20

= 20√20/20

= √20

= 2√5

Therefore, the length between the point and the line is 2√5.
