So z is an angle.

That would be point E.

This triangle was dilatated so we can match it up with the larger one. In a dilation, angle measures do not change. So matching up the points E would be equal to A, which of course it the only one with an angle measure not given.

All you have to do is add up the two angle measures and subtract that by 180 (total of all angles combined).

So 65+55=120

180-120=60

Angle A is 60

Which makes angle E 60 as well

We know that all of the angles of a triangle add up to 180, so:

65+55+ Angle A = 180

Simplify:

120+ Angle A = 180

Subtract 120 from both sides:

Angle A = 60

If you look at the bottom you can see that the 15 turns into 5, meaning it is being divided by 3, so:

60/3=20

Z=20 Degrees
