Apply the Pythagorean theorem:

c^2 = a^2 + b^2

Where:

c = hypotenuse (longest side )

a & b = the other 2 legs of the triangle

Replacing:

c^2 = 3^2 + (√89)^2

c^2 = 9 + 89

c ^2 = 98

c = √98 = √(49x2) = √49 √2 = 7 √2

Third side = 7 √2
