The length of each side of the geometric figure with perimeter of the pentagon as 24 metres are; x = 4 metres and 1.5x = 6 metres.

The perimeter of the geometric figure is the sum of the lengths of its sides. Given that the perimeter of the pentagon which has five sides to be 24 meters, thus we shall calculate for the value of x as follows:

x + x + x + 1.5x + 1.5x = 24m

6x = 24m

x = 24m/6 {divide through by 6}

x = 4m

then the side 1.5x is:

1.5 × 4m = 6m

Therefore, the value for the each side labelled x is 4 metres while that of each side length 1.5x is 6 metres.
