Here is how to insert element to the center section of the header to display the current date
Select Header and Footer from the Insert menu.
Click in the Left, Center, or Right parts of the Header or Footer sections, depending on where you want the date or time to show.
Insert Date or Insert Time from the Header & Footer Ribbon menu. You can also provide the Page Number, Page Count, File Path, File Name, and Sheet Name.
Do one or more of the following if you wish:
Enter a new line by pressing ENTER.
Select &[Date] or &[Time] and then hit DELETE to remove a date or time from a header or footer.
Select OK. A preview of your header or footer appears in the Page Setup dialog box.
