y=1/2 -3 basically the slope stays the same all u have to do is plug in the x y coords into y = 1/2x + b

Answer:

x - 2y = - 6

Explanation:

y = (1/2)x + 3

m = 1/2

Points: (4, -1)

Since the desired line is parallel to the given line, it will also have a slope of 1/2.

We can write the equation in the point-slope form:

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

Plugging the number, we get:

y - (-1) = 1/2(x - 4)

y + 1 = 1/2x - 2

y = 1/2x - 3

Rearranging the equation to the standard form Ax + By = C:

1/2x - y = - 3

Multiplying through by 2 to eliminate the fraction:

x - 2y = - 6

So, the answer is x - 2y = - 6
