Chlorine displaces bromine from a solution of potassium bromide.

Cl₂ +2KBr ---->2KCl + Br₂
What is the oxidising agent in this reaction?

B) bromine
C) chloride ions

Cl2 is reduced meaning it gains electrons. In order to oxidize Br2, something else has to gain those lost electrons. That's called the oxidizing agent. In this case, chlorine gains those electrons. It is either just chlorine or chloride ions. I would say its chloride ions
