Planets are visible in the night sky because they reflect the Sun's light.

In the night sky, we are able to see some planets with the unaided eye because they reflect the Sun's light. When planets orbit around the Sun, they capture some of the sunlight and reflect it back to us. This reflection allows us to observe the planets as bright spots of light in the sky.
