Explanation:

We can use solve this problem with cancelling the b's in the equations.

We can find m by using the (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) formula.

We end up with the two equations:

-1 = -2m+b

1 = 6m+b

Here, we can cancel out the (b)'s and find the value of m.

m=0.25

After I did this, I plugged the m into both equations to find b.

-1 - (-2*0.25)=b

I got -1/2 for b.

This is how I got y=0.25x-0.5b
