Which technological advancements (during WWI) do you feel were the most important and why? Do we still use any of that technology today if not did it lead to any modern technology?

Maaaaany technological advancements are due to warfare.

In WWI, the machinegun was greatly improved and utilized. Airplanes were beginning to be utilized on a huge scale, tanks as well. I believe that WWI was a huge milestone in technological advancement, we obviously still use airplanes, tanks, and chemicals in warfare today.
