Distribute
2(x-1) =3(x-4)
2x -2 =3 (x-4)
Distribute
2x-2 =3 (x-4)
2x-2=3x-12
Add 2 both sides of the equation
2x-2=3x-12
2x-2+2=3x-12+2
Simplify
2x=3x-10
Subtract 3x from both sides of the equation
2x=3x -10
2x -3x =3x -10 -3x
Simplify
-x=-10
Divide both sides of the equation by the same term
-x=-10
-x/-1 / -1 / -10/-1
Simplify
X=10
