∠ 7 and ∠ 2 are alternate angles and are congruent (equal ), then

∠ 7 = ∠ 2 ( substitute values )

5x - 54 = 3x + 16 ( subtract 3x from both sides )

2x - 54 = 16 ( add 54 to both sides )

2x = 70 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 35

Then

∠ 2 = 3x + 16 = 3(35) + 16 = 105 + 16 = 121°
