hello

to solve for x, we have to simplify this equation

step one

collect like terms

\begin{gathered} (8)/(9)x+4=12 \\ (8)/(9)x=12-4 \\ (8)/(9)x=8 \\ \end{gathered}

step two

cross multipy both sides

\begin{gathered} (8)/(9)x=8 \\ 8x=8*9 \\ 8x=72 \end{gathered}

step three

divide both sides by the coefficient of x

\begin{gathered} 8x=72 \\ (8x)/(8)=(72)/(8) \\ x=9 \end{gathered}

from the calculation above, the value of x is equal to 9
