y = (- 1/2)x - 6

=============

Take two points from the graph. It will be points (- 6, - 3) and (0, - 6).

Find the slope first, using slope formula:

  • m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)

Substitute (- 6, - 3) for (x₁, y₁) and (0, - 6) for (x₂, y₂) and find the slope m:

  • m = (- 6 - (-3)) / (0 - (-6))
  • m = - 3/6
  • m = - 1/2

Use the slope-intercept form of y = mx + b.

Substitute (-2/3) for m and - 6 for b, which is the y-intercept:

  • y = (- 1/2)x - 6

This is the line in the slope-intercept form.
