What is the solution set for x + 4 < 3(x – 2)

x > 5

x + 4 < 3(x-2)

distribution: 3x-6

put back into the equation:

x+4 < 3x-6

subtract 4 from each side

x < 3x -10

remember there's still 1 next to x

so now subtract 3x from 1x

-2x < -10

and now divide each side by -2 qnd flip the sign

-2x/-2 = x

-10/-2 = 5

Then there's your answer :

x > 5
