we will take two points on the line,

first is (0,2) and other is (1, 4)

the rate of change will be the slope of the line,

\begin{gathered} m=(4-2)/(1-0) \\ m=(2)/(1)=2 \end{gathered}

so the rate of the change is 2 km per trip

so the answer is 2
