Jessica is selling books during the summer to earn money for college. She

earns a commission on each sale but has to pay for her own expenses.
After a month of driving from neighborhood to neighborhood and walking
door-to-door, she figures out that her weekly earnings are approximately a
linear function of the number of doors she knocks on.
She writes the equation of the function like this: E() = 10x- 35, where xis the
number of doors she knocks on during the week and E(x) is her earnings for
the week in dollars.
What does the slope of Jessica's function represent?

In the equation E(x) = 10x - 35, the coefficient of x, which is 10, represents the slope of Jessica's function. In this context, the slope represents the rate at which her earnings increase for each additional door she knocks on during the week.

So, in this case, the slope of 10 means that for every additional door she knocks on, her weekly earnings increase by $10. This means that the more doors she knocks on, the more money she earns, and the rate of increase is $10 per door.

In summary, the slope of Jessica's function represents the earnings she makes for each additional door she knocks on during the week.
