Zendaya was given a box of assorted chocolates for her birthday. Each night, Zendaya treated herself to some chocolates. Zendaya ate 2 chocolates each night and there were originally 18 chocolates in the box. Make a table of values and then write an equation for C, commaC, in terms of t, commat, representing the number of chocolates remaining in the box tt days after Zendaya's birthday.

The equation is C = 18 - 2t

Zendaya starts off with 18 chocolates. Then she subtracts off 2 chocolates per night. That's why the minus 2t portion is there.

The table of values will look like this

For example, the scratch work when t = 4 is:

C = 18-2t

C = 18-2*4

C = 18-8

C = 10

On day 4, there are 10 chocolates left over. Note the pairing "4,10" shown in the table above.
