Answer: I wake up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. I stretch and smile, feeling the warmth of the sun on my face. I look at the clock and see that it is 9:00 am. I have no appointments or deadlines today. I have all the time in the world to do whatever I want.
I get up and walk to the kitchen, where I see a note on the fridge. It is from my husband, who left early for work. He wrote:
“Good morning, my love. I hope you have a wonderful day. I can’t wait to see you tonight. We have reservations at your favorite restaurant. Happy anniversary!”
I feel a surge of joy and gratitude. I can’t believe it has been 10 years since we got married. We have been through so much together, but we always supported each other and made each other happy. He is the best thing that ever happened to me.
I decide to make myself a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I turn on the radio and listen to some upbeat music. I sing along and dance in the kitchen, feeling free and happy.
After breakfast, I take a shower and get dressed. I put on a dress that he bought me for my birthday. It is blue, his favorite color. I look at myself in the mirror and feel confident and beautiful.
I grab my purse and keys and head out the door. I have a surprise for him too. I am going to buy him tickets for the concert of his favorite band. He has always wanted to see them live, but they were always sold out or too expensive.
I drive to the ticket office and wait in line. I am lucky enough to get two tickets for the front row seats. I am so excited to see his reaction when I give them to him.
I drive back home and put the tickets in an envelope with a card that says:
“To my amazing husband, thank you for making me the happiest woman in the world. I love you more than words can say. Happy anniversary!”
I place the envelope on his pillow and wait for him to come home.
