inertia: things keep doing their thing until something else disturbs it

things like staying in equilibrium, which is your really fast velocity in one direction

if you go slower, it's easier to turn because there's less velocity to reduce

if you go too fast, that velocity won't reduce fast enough, and you'll keep going that way and you go off the road
