to work out how many people get a ball we know that every THIRD person gets one.
So we know it will be given like this:

3, 6, 9 —-> which is also the 3 times table.
We know every FOURTH person received a stuffed animal.

So we know it will be given like this

4,8, 12 —-> which is the 4 times table.


to figure out who got BOTH. Is to find common multiples under 60 between 3,4

They are: 12, 24, 36, 48 and 60 itself.

Therefore 5 people received both.
