we have the equation

5x+2y=0

solve for y

step 1

subtract 5x on both sides

5x+2y-5x=0-5x

simplify

2y=-5x

step 2

Divide by 2 on both sides

2y/2=-5x/2

y=-(5/2)x

y=-2.50x
