JL = 16

Explanation:

Since K is the midpoint of JL, we know that both sides are the exact same length. So, the equation for this would be JK=KL --> 8x-8=7x-6

First, add 8 to each side.

8x-8 +8 = 7x-6 +8

8x = 7x+2

Subtract 7x from both sides.

8x -7x = 7x -7x + 2

x=2

Now that we know x, plug that into both equations and add them together.

8(2)-8

16-8

8

7(2)-6

14-6

8

8+8=16

JL = 16!

Hope this helps!

Let me know if you need anything else :)
