= 30.852cm

Explanation:

The top part, the curve, is half of a circle. The circumference of a circle is:

C = pi•d

They asked you to use 3.142 for pi and the diameter is given in the image, 12cm

C = pi•d

= 3.142 • 12

= 37.704

But we only need half of the circumference.

37.704/2

= 18.852

Then, finish up by adding the length of the straight part on the bottom.

Perimeter

= curve + straightpart

= 18.852 + 12

= 30.852

The perimeter of the shape is 30.852cm.
