Based on the graph, an equation for each line include the following;

line 1: y = 1/5(x) + 3

line 2: y = 3/5(x) + 5

line 3: y = 6/5(x) + 7

In Mathematics and Geometry, the point-slope form of a straight line can be calculated by using the following mathematical equation (formula):

y - y_1 = m(x - x_1)

Where:

  • x and y represent the data points.
  • m represent the slope.

At data point (0, 3) and a slope of 1/5, an equation for line 1 (from bottom) can be calculated by using the point-slope form as follows:

y - 3 = 1/5(x - 0)

y = 1/5(x) + 3

At data point (0, 5) and a slope of 3/5, an equation for line 2 can be calculated by using the point-slope form as follows:

y - 5 = 3/5(x - 0)

y = 3/5(x) + 5

At data point (0, 7) and a slope of 6/5, an equation for line 3 can be calculated by using the point-slope form as follows:

y - 7 = 6/5(x - 0)

y = 6/5(x) + 7
