You are buying fruit to make fruit baskets. Apples come in bags of 20. Oranges come in bags of 16 and bananas come in bags of 32.

2. You decide that not only must the fruit baskets be identical, but each one must have the same number of apples, oranges, and bananas.

a. What is the least number of bags of each fruit you need to have the same number of apples, oranges, and bananas? I

b. How many of each type of fruit do you have?

c. There must be at least 5 but no more than 10 of each type of fruit in each basket.

How many different ways can you arrange the fruit baskets when using all of the fruit? Explain your reasoning.

Answer:

You will need to find the least common multiple of 20,16, and 32. The least common multiple of all those will be 160. you will need 8 bags of apples, 10 bags of oranges, and 5 bags of bananas. so for a I believe it would be 8 bags of apples 10 bags of oranges and 5 bags for bananas. as for b it should be 160. and for c you could arrange either 5 of each fruit for 32 baskets, 10 of each for 16 baskets, or 8 of each for 20 baskets
