We know that being complementary angles refer to..Sum of two angles = 90°.

So,

<A + <B = 90

i.e. (7x + 25) + (x+9) = 90

or, 8x + 34 = 90

or, 8x = 90-34

or, x = 56/8

or, x = 7

Again,

<A = 7x + 25

or, <A = 7*7 + 25

or, <A = 74
