Answer:

The answer to the equation is 7x.

Explanation:

How can we solve this?

First, add the beginning two values

8x + 4x =

12x

Now, add 12x to 2x.

12 + 2 = 14

14x

14x/2x

Now, we need to simplify it more.

14x/2x =

7x

So, the answer is 7x.

\huge\text{Hey there!}

\mathsf{(8x + 4x + 2x)/(2x)}

\large\text{COMBINE the LIKE TERMS}

\mathsf{= ((8x + 4x + 2x))/((2x))}

\mathsf{= (8x + 4x + 2x)/(2x)}

\mathsf{= (12x + 2x)/(2x)}

\mathsf{= (14x)/(2x)}

\large\text{CANCEL out the x in each of the numbers because we do \bf not}\\\\\large\text{need them anymore}

\mathsf{= (14x)/(2x)}

\mathsf{= (14)/(2)}

\mathsf{= 14/2}

\mathsf{= 7}

\huge\text{Therefore your answer should be:}

\huge\boxed{\mathsf{7}}\huge\checkmark
