We have to find the value of z.

We can relate intersecting chords as:

$AS\cdot SB=CS\cdot SD$

Then, applied to our segments, we can write:

$\begin{gathered} z\cdot2=2\cdot(4+2) \\ z\cdot2=2\cdot6 \\ z=6 \end{gathered}$

Answer: z = 6 [Option A]
